 In the garden of Gethsemane
 There was terrible distress and agony
 His Friends He asked to watch and pray
 All asleep were they

 In that lonely place
 Sweat of blood stained His face
 Not even a comfort was there
 Oh! What love and grace beyond compare

 The struggle was so great
 But the triumph and victory await
 He defeated the devil's power
 Through His love and intense prayer.

 He overpowered Hell
 As He uttered 'Not my will'
 And the victory began
 As He said "Thy will be done!"
