A tree symbolizes
life and God’s gift of life.
As part of the
centennial celebration of the SPC Formation in the Philippines, we
commence today the planting of 100 trees for 100 years of formation.
With these trees,
we express our gratitude to God for our Founder, Fr. Louis Chauvet,
and our first Sisters, all the Sisters who have gone ahead of us,
and all the leaders of the SPC Philippine Province who have been His
instruments in making the God-seed in each Sister grow and bear
fruit. We lovingly remember
Bishop Frederick Rooker and our first Seven Sisters who courageously
responded to God’s invitation of planting our Congregation on
Philippine soil. We also
thank our Lord in a very special way for the gift of person of Sr.
Zeta, whose birthday we celebrate today and under whose leadership
our Congregation continues to grow and bear witness to God’s love.
In solidarity with
all the people in the world, especially those working on saving our
Mother Earth, we pray with our Patron, St. Paul:
“May the whole creation, O Lord, be set free from slavery to
corruption and share in the glorious freedom of the children of
God.” (Rom. 8:21)
